Day 285 - dessert

sunday is a day of rest, except for celebrationistas in which it's usually business as usual. not today. today there weren't many celebrations to get my teeth into. there were obviously a few, and a few worthwhile ones as well such as be bald and be free day (don't worry about not having hair, whatever the cause).

there were two celebrations which i did get around to observing. the first was dessert day (yay!) i gave the boys a chance to choose dessert if they could finish the park run in under twelve minutes.  one of them had managed it before but not in some time.  neither managed it so they had to make do with what they got. what they got was houghton mess, an invention of my wife. meringue, cream, chocolate sauce and cadburys caramel buttons, mixed together. it maybe needed some fruit to lift it but all in all, not a bad effort. the kids certainly approved.

you may have noticed what my other celebration was today. i'll give you a clue, you've probably been frustrated reading this due to the lack of capital letters, that's because today has been lowercase day. it was actually quite difficult writing this as purposely missing out capitals goes against my ocd. also, the autocorrect keeps kicking in and I have to find ways of getting around it. i'm not sure why we need to celebrate lowercase letters but there you go. it's done.
