Day 302 - it's Halloween!

It isn't often that there are lots of celebrations on one day with a shared theme, usually it is just a mush mash. Today however it was all about Halloween,  or samhain if you prefer. For instance,  I'm typing this whilst trying to eat a toffee apple as it's Caramel Apple Day. It isn't unpleasant but the toffee sticks in your teeth and so it's generally awkward.

In preparation for this evening the kids carved pumpkins, it was Carve A Pumpkin Day. They did a decent job of it too, opting for the standard eyes and teeth look rather than a pumpkin based version of a still from a Disney movie. Maybe next year.

For Magic Day we watched the Fantastic Beasts movie, not one I've seen before. There was plenty of magic going on so a definite tick in that box. I prefer the Harry Potter films but the advert for the sequel looks like it's just getting started.

We also tried to celebrate Knock Knock Jokes Day but they fell a bit flat. I won't bore you with the attempts.

For Halloween itself we had spooky stories with Jake Evans ( look him up, very entertaining), sweet collecting in Shrewsbury town centre and a house party with the neighbours. All in all it was our most Halloweeny Halloween in years!
