Day 212 - Ice cream sandwiches and colouring books
There were only 4 celebrations to choose from today which makes a change. As such I tried to celebrate all of them. This was easier said than done as we were out of the house all day. We spent the day on Caldey Island, looking at scenery and eating chocolate. This meant that we didn't have time to do any colouring until we got back. It was Colo(u)ring Book Day so three of us did some colouring. I opted for a Shropshire colouring book and gave it a shot. I didn't have all of the colours which I wanted which was very frustrating and the pictures didn't necessarily have defined lines which was also a pain. Colouring is supposed to be stress relieving, I think it would have been more stress relieving if I had a pencil sharpener and a black pencil. My youngest had a nice time with her colouring, she wasn't wuite as fussed about staying within the lines.
IPA Day was enjoyable. I was able to have some Wild Bill from Aldi which was very tasty. I don't usually go for an IPA and Aldi aren't famous for their beers. This one was however very pleasant and definitely worth a try. I couldn't tell you what makes a beer an India Pale Ale but it tastes nice, what more do you need?
There was a Dinosaur Day was held in May but today was also Dinosaur Day. As there wasn't much else on I decided to celebrate it again by taking part in a dinosaur quiz. It was quite tricky and included questions such as who named the first dinosaurs. My knowledge stops at T-Rex.
Finally today was also Ice Cream Sandwich Day. The kids were looking forward to this but they didn't have time before bed time. Shame. We cooked some ready roll double chocolate cookies and added some vanilla ice cream. Not bad at all. I brought a bit for making them with me on holiday, basically animal molds. As the kids were in bed though it seemed pointless so we just had them as they came. Very nice. I'm not sure what tomorrow holds, check back in to find out!
