Day 231 - hurrah for old people
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. I've celebrated ice cream a fair amount this year, not today though. It was Spumoni Day which is an Italian ice cream (probably called gelato) dessert which is sliced rather than scooped. It's a but like Neapolitan as in it has three flavours (pistachio, cherry and vanilla or chocolate) but it also contains fruit and nuts. It sounds good but I couldn't find any anywhere. I even tried Carluccios but no luck. I imagine that people across the world (but mainly America) are tucking into their Spumoni today in celebration, I'll just have to dream.
It was also Brazilian Blowout Day. This sounded like a carnival, maybe a big meal. Sadly though it's about a hair product which I've never heard of before. The sources said it is another American thing found in special hairdressers so not something I can celebrate. Sweet Tea Day was basically the same as Iced Tea Day so there wasn't much point in retreading old ground.
There weren't many celebrations going on today so I tried to combine Senior Citizens Day and Poets Day. The results weren't good so I won't bore you with them. Instead I searched on Google for other people's efforts. They're out there. The ones I found mention things like wisdom and understanding. I hope that when I'm considered elderly I'll be wise. Saying that, being elderly keeps getting pushed back. It used to be 60, now it's more like 70. Hopefully I'll have a chance to be wise if even for a short time.
