Day 234 - waffles and shooting stars
Well this is different, I'm writing a blog from the back of a Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel concert. He's actually a much better singer than I imagined, having only ever heard the 'make me smile song which I assume he'll end with.
Anyway, today I celebrated Waffle Day by eating two different type of waffles, neither of which was any good. Waffles really need to be hot and fresh. Mine were out of plastic packets. I had some which you toast and covered them with maple syrup. They were like cardboard, a waste of good syrup. I also bought some if the type with is covered in sugar. This kids had these but didn't like them so I ate them too. I was still hungry. I wouldn't have eaten them otherwise. Just make the celebration more interesting though I found an episode of Waffle the Wonder Dog on iPlayer. My daughter love it, or at least she loves singing the theme tune. One of us enjoyed Waffle Day, I need to invest in a waffle iron.
As I'm at Shrewsbury Folk Festival it was handy that it was International Strange Music Day. I haven't actually heard anything that strange yet but Rusty Shackle did play the hokey cokey. I think that counts.
Oh, Steve's playing Mr Soft, I've heard this before too, on an advert I think.
I didn't celebrate Can Opener Day as mist tins have ring pulls now. That and I didn't have a chance to open any cans.
Today is the anniversary of Pluto being demoted. Son 1 has a stuffed Pluto toy but he didn't get chosen to come to the festival. Does that count?
Lastly today it is both Bat Night and Shooting Star Day so once I leave here I'll watch out for both. Let me know if you see either.
Right, must listen to Steve a bit more. He's talking about Rod Stewart covering his song and how he's enjoying the royalties. Nice if you can get it. Nighty night.
