Day 220 - Appreciating Duran Duran
I was looking forward to trying a smore today (which lets face it is a silly name. It's a corruption of "some more" in case you were wondering). It's Smores Day. Biscuit, chocolate and marshmallow. The online posts about them say that they are campfire food so I think that you're supposed to toast the marshmallow. I ran out of time though and started drinking red wine. Wine and sweet things just don't mix in my humble opinion. So I'm afraid that I can't tell you what they are like. I've melted them together in a microwave before, and eaten them as rocky road, so I assume it isn't too different.
The only celebration I managed to fit in today was Duran Duran Appreciation Day but surely that's the onky one needed. I put on a random play list of their hits on YouTube. The kids actually seemed to like it. Success. My daughter even had a good boogie. The video is on Facebook if you require evidence. Rio went down well, as did The Reflex. My favourite is Ordinary World though and I managed a little air guitar for the solo. I enjoyed it more than expected. Yay!
There are a few celebrations over the weekend but the main one is Middle Child Day. If you're a middle child, here's your chance to shine.
