Day 217 - sea serpents, raspberries and cream

This is just getting silly now. Its 10.35pm and I'm about to go to bed. Before I do however I'm eating a bowl of raspberries which I defrosted earlier with some cream in order to celebrate Raspberries 'n Cream Day. I don't really want them with it being so late but I forgot to eat them earlier so it's my own fault. They're a but mushy with having been frozen but quite tasty.  I'm guessing that we're in raspberry season as there are another three raspberry based celebrations this week. I hope that you've stocked up.

The only other celebration which I've managed to squeeze in today was Sea Serpent Day. I'm not entirely sure that it counts though, we'll see what you think. I bought a copy of Percy Jackson - Sea Of Monsters on DVD a few months back so decided to watch it with the kids today.  You'd think that with a name like Sea Of Monsters that there would be a few serpents in there wouldn't you? I did anyway. Spoiler Alert! There weren't any, just a big mouth in the ocean which was like the watery version of the big mouth in the dessert from Return Of The Jedi ( which by the way was made far less scary in the remastered version). There was also a large sea horse but again, not a serpent.  This is one if those times when it's the effort which counts ( for me anyway).

I missed out on Beach Party Day and Lighthouse Day which both could have been celebrated last week whilst by the coast. Shrewsbury isn't exactly well known for its lighthouses. There is a beach themed night club but as the wife was off galavanting, that wasn't on the cards.

I'll be in London tomorrow so I'm not sure how much celebrating will be done, I've bought some courgettes in advance though so I'm ready!
