Day 216 - Wiggly toes and Manga

I'm not all that keen on mints.  They're not bad but they taste like toothpaste to me. Polos, softmints, even extra strong mints (they're a minty bit stronger). Brushing teeth is good enough for me for keep bad breath in check. Today was Fresh Breath Day so I made an extra effort to smell fresh by buying some Smint. They're quite minty aren't they, and fresh. I quite liked them. Next time you meet me, if I'm smelling good you'll now know why. Thank you Fresh Breath Day!

I didn't do anything to celebrate Corporate Baby Name Day other than writing about it here as it's too good not to share. The day celebrates the fact that a poll of Americans found that 20 percent would sell their child's name to a corporate, as in christen them with a brand name for cash, like Pepsi Jones or Snickers Smith. 20%! A further 28% said that they'd consider it. A couple tried to sell their child's name on eBay for $500k but nobody bought it. If they had, the auction ended on 6 August hence why we celebrate today. Thinking about it there is a condiment called Maggi isn't there?  Maybe we should have asked them for payment in exchange for dropping the "e" from child 3's name.

Today is Wiggle Your Toes Day. I wiggled my toes.

It was also International Sailor Moon Day. I'd never heard of it before. After a quick Google I found that it is a Japanese cartoon, Manga I think. I found the first episode (an English version) on YouTube.  It was truly bizarre. A schoolgirl is told that she has super powers by a talking cat. The school kids where uniforms like sailor outfits with huge bows on (which made just be a Japanese thing). The main character isn't all that bright and doesn't want the whole super hero thing. I'm not sure who it is aimed at as the bad guys were actually quite scary. I'm not a convert.

I haven't prepped for next week so I have no idea what tomorrow has I'm store. Check back in to find out!
